This article address an important role of scientific community regarding the linkage between science and human population. Macrophytes are imporntant component of the ecosystems, but are important for human activities as well. The use of macrophytes as resource is widely reported in ecology, however, in the present article a great problem is showed. The lake support several human activities and macrophytes may be an key factor to keep this activities by restructuration of this water body. The presence of macrophytes can be manage to recover this lake in a long term process, and this action must be done.
In spite of the importance of this research, the article is included into Ecology subject and does not report a complet ecological assessment, mainly due to the fact that only macrophyte richness is present. I suggest that a fine analysis of species composition and temporal diversity should be done to increase the quality of this article. These analyses certainly will enhance the interpretations and conclusions about the lake. In addition, the structure and length may be improved to include more information easier to anyone read. Finally, I strongly suggest that authors send the article to English corrections, because some grammar corrections are needed, and also, some techinichal words were miss used, for example, "macrophyte wealth" should be changed to "macrophyte richness"; the word "anchored" should be changed by "rooted" in the macrophyte life-forms. -
