Brief Biography:

After completing my under graduation (M.B.B.S.) from Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (Uttarakhand) from 2007 to 2012 and a year of compulsory rotatory internship in Jaipur Golden Hospital (New Delhi) from 2012 to 2013, I realised that my interest lay in a surgical branch, specifically Orthopaedics. The plethora of cases encountered by an orthopaedic surgeon and the surgeon’s ability to bring a dramatic positive change in a patient's life through his skill, fascinated and encouraged me to pursue this speciality. I did my post graduation (M.S. Orthopaedics) from Sancheti Institute for Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, Pune which is a tertiary level premier Orthopaedics institute, known for its world class treatment and education. Under the mentorship of stalwarts in this field like Dr K.H. Sancheti and Dr. Parag Sancheti, I was privileged to have successfully passed the Masters (M.S.) degree in the first attempt in the summer of 2016. After spending 5 years in Uttarakhand for earning the graduation degree of M.B.B.S and 3 years in Pune learning Orthopaedics right from the basics, I longed to return to my home town (Delhi) to give back to the society and in the process gain some experience by practicing what I had learned. I decided to develop my skills in traumatology and general orthopaedics by joining a Delhi Government Hospital (Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital, Narela) as a Senior Resident (S.R.) in the department of Orthopaedics in October 2016. It was here that I got exposed to the ground realities of healthcare and the requirements of patients in the periphery of Delhi.Yearning for an additional qualification, I appeared for and successfully cleared the Diplomate of National Board (D.N.B.) Orthopaedics December 2016 examination in the very first attempt, the practical examination centre of which was allotted to me at Central Institute of Orthopaedics (C.I.O.), VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. To further develop my practical skills in a fast-paced environment, I applied for and got selected for the coveted post of Senior Resident (S.R.) in Orthopaedics department at Deen Dayal Upadhyay (D.D.U.) Hospital, New Delhi which is one of the busiest tertiary level government hospital in Delhi. Here, one of my most rewarding experiences has been the supervised independence given to me to manage the patients on outpatient basis (OPD), the emergency management of acute poly trauma patients as well as elective and emergency surgeries for bone and joint disorders. Apart from high clinical and surgical exposure at this referral centre, I am fortunate enough to have a sound academic environment here in the form of routine clinical case discussions with the senior faculty and teaching the students pursuing their D.N.B. post graduation in orthopaedics. I have also successfully passed the Diploma in Orthopaedics exam conducted by SICOT International society in Cape Town, South Africa in December 2017.My track record reveals that I have been a diligent worker to have kept abreast with latest updates in my chosen field of interest by regularly attending conferences, presenting papers/posters and attending various courses from time to time. I have successfully completed numerous courses/ workshops which would help me in providing better care to my patients a few of which are AO Basic Principles of Fracture Management course, ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) provider course, ITLS (International Trauma Life Support) provider course and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) provider course. These courses have helped me in developing my character and qualities in emergency management of patients according to prescribed international standards. My interest in arthroscopy and arthroplasty was sparked off by the high volume, high quality subspecialty orthopaedic work being done at Sancheti Institute which motivated and encouraged me to further my career by learning the intricacies of this field. I am passionate to treat the ageing population with disabling joint disorders as well as young individuals with athletic injuries, who want to get back to their active lifestyles as early as possible.

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:

WebmedCentral is an innovative original concept of post publication peer review which is widely accepted and embraced by professionals and scientists worldwide. I personally believe that it would strongly encourage research work amongst clinicians and will promote all contributors to submit their clinical work for scrutiny by experts in their respective fields.
