Brief Biography:
Deepika Poranki is Innovation Associate at Wake Forest Innovations. She actively engages with researchers and investigators on a daily basis at various levels of the academic and clinical enterprise at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center to identify innovative technologies for development to support and enhance the innovative and entrepreneurial capacities of the faculty and staff. She also evaluates, assesses and documents the scientific and technical merit, commercial viability and patent/copyright potential of the technologies.
Deepika received her PhD in Molecular Genetics from Wake Forest University and both Masters and Bachelors from Andhra University, India. Her research work was focused on integrating cellular, molecular, and engineering principles to understand the role and function of keratin biomaterials in regenerative therapies for the treatment of burns and trauma.

My research interests are primarily around burn and wound healing research. I also have expertise in the molecular mechanisms of wound healing; Biomaterials in wound healing and preclinical studies involving wound healing research.
