Brief Biography:

I have completed my B.Sc. (Hons.) in Botany and M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Aligarh Muslim University, India in year 2003 and 2005, respectively. For partial fulfillment of M.Sc. degree, I did one-year project in the field of biophysics, and results were published in Biopolymers and Protein Peptide Letters. In 2006 I joined Ph.D. course at Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit, AMU, India and completed it in 2011. During Ph.D. I tried to develop candidate vaccine against intracellular pathogens including Mycobacterium tuberculosis and food borne pathogen Listeria monocytogenes and got promising results, which were published in reputed international journals like PLoS ONE, International Journal of Nanomedicine, FEBS Journals, Scandinavian Journal of Immunology. Further, I was also awarded ICMR post-doctoral fellowship in 2011 but I moved to USA for post-doctoral training. Here, I am involved in cutting edge science of virus mediated innate immune responses. During this tenure I deciphered the novel immune evasion mechanism to control inflammatory responses in herpesvirus infected primary cells or cancerous cell lines. Having sufficient training in vaccine biology, cell biology, cell signaling, immunology, microbiology, biotechnology, virology, nanobiotechnology and biophysics I am interested in interdisciplinary research. In particular, I am highly interested in host pathogen interaction of infectious diseases, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. At present I have 15 publications and two book chapters. I have attended more than 12 national and international conferences and workshops and also received best poster presentation in some of them. I am life member of Indian Immunology Society, Indian Virological Society and also member of other national and international organizations like American Society for Microbiology. I am also serving as an editor in International Journal of Bioassays and as reviewer of reputed journals in my field. Currently, I am working as Senior Research Associate in Chicago Medical School, North Chicago, USA and also serving as a research consultant for other academic organization.
