65 Landsdowne St, PRB 252

Brief Biography:

Shrike received a B.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering from Southeast University (China) in 2008. He obtained a M.S. from Washington University in St. Louis in 2011 and a Ph.D. from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2013, both in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering. His doctoral researches were centered on the development of porous inverse opal scaffolds based on biodegradable materials, and the applications of photoacoustic microscopy for regenerative engineering, together with works on drug/cell delivery, nanomedicine, and cancer theranostics. He then joined as a postdoctoral research fellow Department of Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology and shifted research focus to lab-on-a-chip, microfluidics, and bio-sensors, while continuing projects related with biomaterials and regenerative engineering. At free time, he enjoys bird- and nature-watching, traveling, and photography.

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:

Open access publications have greatly expedited the advancement of contemporary biomedical sciences by raising the exposure opportunities of scientific work, and the unique visibility of non-peer-reviewed manuscripts at WebmedCentral is pushing such an advancement forward at an even faster pace.
