Brief Biography:
Dr.Krit Pongpirul received his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. He then worked in Cholburi province for 3 years as a director of Nong Yai Community Hospital, responsible for providing health services to 20,000 populations in the area. His quality improvement and research activities gave him an opportunity to work as a health system researchers and as a surveyor for Hospital Accreditation program. In 2005, he was offerred a Presidential Scholarship from Harvard University, USA, for his Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree. With a doctoral scholarship from the Commission on Higher Education, he then received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA, in 2011. His dissertation is titled “Hospital Coding Practice, Data Quality, and DRG-based Reimbursement under the Thai Universal Coverage Scheme.”
