Dr. Friday Uboh

Brief Biography:


Dr. Friday Effiong Uboh was born on the 2nd February, 1970. He completed his undergraduate Studies in 1995 and got his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Biochemistry (Clinical Biochemistry & Biochemical / Environmental Toxicology) from University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria in 2000 and 2005, respectively. In 2000, he was employed as a lecturer in Biochemistry Department, University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria. At the University he has served as an Assistant Lecturer (2000 - 2003), Lecturer 11(2003 - 2006), Lecturer 1(2006 - 2009) and Senior Lecturer (2009 ? date). Over the years, he has taught several Biochemistry courses (including Enzymology, Chemistry and metabolism of biomolecules, Clinical Biochemistry, Biochemical Toxicology, Tissue Biochemistry, Biochemical Methods/Techniques) to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Basic and Allied Medical, Biological Sciences at the University. His research focus is on several aspects of biochemical and environmental toxicology, clinical biochemistry, nutrition and medicinal plants. He has supervised a number of postgraduate and undergraduate students from Basic and Allied Medical, Biological Science departments of the University. He is a member of Nigerian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (NSBMB), Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria (IPAN) and ResearchGate Scientific Network. He is very prolific in writing and has published over 40 research articles in many reputable scientific journals. Dr. Uboh is member of technical review / reviewers? board of many International Journals, including Journal of Biological Sciences, Journal of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Journal of Medical Sciences, Asian Journal of Biological Sciences, Pakistan Journal of Biological Sciences, E3 Journal of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Research, Toxicology and Industrial Health, among others.
 
 

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:


1. To support, and work towards the actualisation of the vision and objectives of Webmedcentral. 2. To establish and enhance relationship between Webmedcentral and biomedical scientists within my area of research and collaborations 3. To contribute my wealth of experience in research to ensure that WebmedCentral continues to be an open and transparent communication tool for biomedical scientists across the globe and keeps pace with changing needs of the science and the scientists. 3.
