Brief Biography:


Dr. Yasir Suhail's interests lie in mathematical and statistical methods in bioinformatics and computational biology. He has been involved in bioinformatics analysis of NGS short read sequencing analysis in cancer and plant stress pathways. He is interested in developing methods for computational analysis of genetic and protein interaction networks using graph theoretical and statistical approaches. He published the first mathematical model describing the role of tunneling nanotubes as a novel cell signaling modality, and a number of papers on the the analysis of neural electrode array recordings. He obtained his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:


I think the idea of rapid publication of valid scientific results is incredibly useful for the dissemination of useful knowledge. Negative results and non-controversial studies tend to be overlooked in the traditional model of scientific publishing, much to the detriment of the scientific community which is deprived of the fruit of previous work.
