Research interests:
I am working on multiple projects focusing on studies characterizing the efficacy of novel drugs and drug combinations against M. tuberculosis (Mtb) in murine and guinea pig models and searching for new anti-TB drug targets, with the goal of shortening the duration of TB chemotherapy. To this end, I am following two different approaches: i) characterization of Mtb transcriptional responses to new anti-TB compounds and use of bioinformatics to identify relevant drug targets; ii) use of multidisciplinary techniques, including computational modeling and high throughput genetic screens in various animal models, in order to elucidate Mtb essential pathways involved in latency and reactivation.
What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:
I like this novel idea for an impartial peer reviewed judgment in biomedical journal
