Dr. Rajesh Singh

Brief Biography:

My training in cancer biology started in Dept. of Molecular and Cellular Oncology, MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2003. Here I had very intense training in studying the role of different hormones, hormone receptors, growth factors, transcription factors, transcription co-regulators, chromatin remodeling proteins complexes and kinases in the signaling pathways involved in the initiation and progress of breast cancer.
I continued my research in oncology by studying the role of microRNAs in the occurence and progression of esophageal cancers. Furthermore I have extensively worked on the role of deregulated Hedgehog signaling pathway in T- and B-cell lymphomas.
Currently I am working in the field of Molecular Diagnostics in relation to personalized Cancer therapy. My work invoves employing Next Gen sequencing machines in detection mutations in oncogenes and tumor supressors for aiding treatment selection for patients and clinical trials.

Signalling pathways in Cancer ( Hedgehog and WNT signaling, Nuclear Receptors, chromatin modifiers, Kinases)

Molecular Diagnostics for Personalized Cancer Therapy.

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:

It is a very interesting and radical idea which needs to be tested and fine-tuned to be widely accepted. I think the open access of the materials is its most commendable feature.
