Brief Biography:


Dr. Feroz Khan, did M.Tech. (Biotechnology) & Ph.D in Bioinformatics from Institute of Engg. & Tech., Uttar Pradesh Tech. University (now G.B. Tech. Univ.), Lucknow, India. He has been awarded with prestigious Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) -Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) 2004. He is presently working as Scientist, CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants, (CSIR, Dept. of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Tech., Govt. of India, New Delhi), Lucknow, India since 2007. He has acted as Member in Advisory Board of ‘International Conference on Ayurvedic Bhasm & Nano-Medicine’, organized by OMICS Biotechnology Inc., USA, ACS-Bioinformatics, Lucknow and Science Awareness Society, Lucknow, Biotech Park, Lucknow, India (Dec. 22, 2007). He has 8 years research and academic experience. He has 25 research papers and 2 book chapters in his credit. He has delivered many invited lecture/talk in Bioinformatics at research organisation, institute/University in India. 

Besides, he is Member of The Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Kolkata, India. He is presently Member of Board of Studies, Biotechnology (B.Tech. & M.Tech. courses), Gautam Budh Tech. Univ. (formally Uttar Pradesh Technical Univ.), Lucknow, India (since 2009).

Research interests:


Research interest is in developing novel in silico predictive models for genome/proteome wide identification of functionally conserved DNA/protein motifs through application of statistical and machine learning approaches. Presently working in structure activity relationship studies of phytomolecules & its derivatives and to support wet lab researchers in in silico studies. Expertiese in biological sequence analysis, SAR/QSAR/QSPR, substrate-enzyme molecular interaction studies through docking, virtual screening, lead optimization, bioavailability screening, toxicity risk assessment, drug likeness parameters compliance and drug target exploration.

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:


Its a good initiative in modern research. Open access biomedical literature search will benefit the world research community. I welcome the WebmedCentral's innovative open access and review model for disseminating research in transparent way.
